This recording, the fifth album of Gamelan music from Cirebon, Indonesia performed by California-based Gamelan Sinar Surya, is exclusively dedicated to Gong Renteng, a lively village gong ensemble thought to date back to the 1400s, and considered to be the oldest form of gamelan music in West Java, Indonesia.
